leaving sedona. the road trip continues: may 31st

It has been the most beautiful 4 days in Sedona.  The weather was perfect.  Our hikes memorable.  We had a laid back day today.  We had breakfast at this amazing local restaurant named, Randall’s, in Cottonwood.  Real fresh food and friendly people.  We then ventured to Jerome and did some window shopping and waited for Tracy Weisel to open his studio, La Victoria Glass Blowing Studio.  I had to stop in and replace my coffee mug that he made me on our last visit.  Tracy is a well known artist who works with the wheel and glass.  He is super duper person, laid back, and not into the social media thing.  Tracy is the builder and creator of the renowned Raku Studio, located in Jerome, AZ.  Tracy and a few other artisans came here from upper NY and identified Jerome as a ghost town.  They, physically, built it up and turned it into the artisan town that it is now.  Maynard Keenan is a dear friend of Tracy’s.  Maynard, well know as the lead singer of the band “Tool”, resides nearby and continues to contribute a lot of money to Jerome.  Maynard owns a vineyard and winery named, Caduceus Cellars,  located in Jerome, along with his retail store named, Puscifer, after his newest project.  He also has a wonderful restaurant in Cottonwood named, Merkin Vineyards Osteria and Tasting Room.  They feature fresh, homemade to order, pastas.  My favorite is the Gnocchi, it is incredible and decadent.

We them ventured back to Sedona, and decided if we can’t live in Sedona, we would not like to live on the outskirts.  We got a lot of info abut Sedona, and will continue to research, as a possible relocation.  We meandered about town, did some shopping.  Got our week of laundry done.  Early dinner at Mesa Grill, now in bed at 8:00.

Tomorrow is gonna be a long day.  Starting out at 5AM and headed to Zion National Park, in Utah.  Farewell Sedona, till we meet again.  Peace.
