Todd and I were very impressed with Vail, Co.
What a neat area and very compact. We got up early and took a walk along the river to have breakfast at “The Little Diner“. The diner is located in Lionshead Village, along with a cluster of fine dining establishments. There is no shortage of food here, with 43 choices of eats.
There is no shortage of money here either. Vail and Lionshead Village have a handful of most beautiful hotels, short stay condos, timeshares, and even a Four Seasons, offering visitors 157 lodging options. The shopping is great in Vail. 156+ options. From gear to diamonds. Even a Starbucks and Gondola rides! Todd and I did some window shopping and then got on the road for Estes Park.
We drove 2 hours and 50 minutes and made it to Estes in time for a short 2 mile hike. Thankfully my lungs seem to be adjusting to the altitude. We are 8000 feet in our cabin, not sure what I will feel when we climb to 9000. They have oxygen cans, so we will throw a couple in our packs. I really can’t believe how beautiful our country is. I have seen things along our road trip, so breathtaking, that I will never forget.
Our cabin is flawless. It is immaculate and accommodating. The kitchenette does not fall short, the bathroom and shower appear to be new, a little fireplace heater, Direct TV, and a private patio with grille and a breathtaking creek. Everything we need. The mornings here are chilly, start out about 45 – 50 and then climb between 70 – 80. Perfect. Our lodge is a 300 yard walk to the RMNP trails. We will explore a couple of these back trails and then take a ride to the parks main entrance.
Dinner at The Dunraven was brilliant. I was skeptical about an Italian Restaurant named, Dunraven. It was delicious, from the fried calamari to the chicken piccata, Todd had Veal. Very satisfied with our choice. Very satisfied with our journey. I feel so blessed.
My mom showed up again today, as we were walking from breakfast, I looked down and there it was, a feather. These messages me so much to me. Peace from Estes.
